Frequently asked questions

What is included in the session price?

The session price includes the use of both single and double rings and, where available, bodyboards. Spectators are free. You are only required to pay for participants (‘sliders’).

How are sessions run?

Please arrive on site no later than 30 minutes before your session starts as you will need to check in at reception, change, and attend a safety briefing – you will not be permitted to slide without one. The last slide is called 10 minutes before the session completes to ensure the next session starts on time.

I didn’t receive a disclaimer form after booking!

Some customers have notified us that they did not automatically receive the disclaimer form after booking – if this is the case, please download it here. You will need to print and sign one copy for each member of your party.

How old do you have to be to take part?

Unfortunately we are only able to offer places on the slides to participants 4 years old and above. Children aged 17 years and under must be always supervised by an adult whilst on site. All participants must be confident in and around water. All ‘sliders’ need to be able to walk up a staircase or have personal assistance to help access the slide.

Do you have a safety video I can watch?

You’ll never believe this, but yes! You can watch it right here right now so you know everything you need to know about sliding safely before you arrive.

What should I wear?

Clothing: You can wear any bathing, beach, or sportswear item as long as they don’t have any exposed rivets, studs, or zips.
Footwear: You must wear non-slip foot covering on the slide. Grip socks, trampolining socks, beach/wet shoes, or wetsuit boots are permitted. We do not permit trainers, tennis shoes, or any other type of footwear except the aforementioned types.
Eyewear: Eyewear is only worn at your own risk. If you need to use them to see, we insist they are secured with a glasses band. We cannot be held responsible for loss, damage, or injury.

Please note there is a risk of friction burns, so we advise all riders to cover up exposed skin (except swim shoes and wetsuit boots).
All jewellery must be removed, and earrings covered with a waterproof plaster.

Are there toilets?

Basic toilet facilities are provided, but please note there are no on-site changing rooms.

What is your cancellation policy?

Please visit our Cancellation Policy page.

What if the weather is bad?

We still operate when it’s raining – you are going to get wet anyway! Unfortunately, our British summer weather isn’t always how we would like it to be and we cannot operate in high strong winds or if there is thunder and lightning overhead. Sometimes we have to make a close call last minute as the weather can at times be very changeable, localized and unpredictable. Safety always comes first.

If there is a sudden change in weather, we may need to close or pause sliding without notice. However, we are always keeping a good eye on the weather and usually, we will have some warning if we need to close. We advise checking on our Facebook before traveling – it may be okay in your area but very different to our site. If we have to cancel, you will receive an email to rearrange your booking or organize a refund. If you haven’t heard from us then please still travel to site for your session. Weather reports change very quickly so we will make the decision as early as possible.

Are dogs allowed on site?

Dorset: Dogs are not permitted on the Dorset Mega Slip and Slide site itself (sorry!), but they are permitted on the public footpath which runs up the side of the field – please keep them on a lead. The A31 is a fast road and if they got loose they may cause a serious accident.

Cornwall: Well-behaved dogs are welcome on site. Please keep them on a lead and clean up any mess.

What are the safety rules?

Water activities are supervised by trained staff, however participation is at your own risk. All customers are required to sign a waiver before entering the site – a copy of this will be provided in advance when purchasing your tickets.

Site rules must be understood by all customers before entry is granted. Any children under the age of 17 are the full responsibility of their accompanying parent or guardian, and must be supervised at all times. Unaccompanied children under the age of 17 will not be granted access to the site.

Customers are obliged to follow staff instructions at all times; customers who fail to comply will be asked to leave the site immediately, without refund. Management reserves the right to refuse admission in all circumstances.

Do you take group or exclusive bookings?

For group bookings, please use the normal booking procedure. Very large groups, schools, or charities please contact us via email at info@megaslipandslide.com for more information.

We don’t offer exclusive use of either the slide or the Maze in August. We do have some availability in July for large groups of 80 persons or more. For further information please email info@megaslipandslide.com

How about birthday parties?

You are more than welcome to bring your birthday party to us. We don’t offer exclusivity but we can easily accommodate you in one of our public sessions. To book, just follow the usual booking procedure.
